简 介
英国驻肯尼亚大使馆的外交官贾斯汀（拉尔夫·费因斯 Ralph Fiennes 饰）为人随和、生活平淡，平日只爱在自己的园子里打理花草树木。然而，有一天，厄运降临到这名超然物外的男人身上。他的妻子泰莎（蕾切尔·薇兹 Rachel Weisz 饰）――一名主持正义的律师，被发 现陈尸郊外，调查结果为被其情人杀害。
贾斯汀遭此晴天霹雳，愤怒过后的他仔细考虑，觉得官方的说法漏洞百出，于是这名平和温柔的男人誓要找出妻子身亡的真相。泰勒经过重重困难取证，终于逐渐接近事件的真相，原来泰莎发现了这里一间有着深厚政治背景的英国药厂在这里利用爱滋病人试验他们的新药，并导致了数以百计的艾滋病患者惨死！
