　　《轰炸鲁尔水坝记》根据史实改编，描述英国科学家研究出水面跃进炸弹，透过空军低空飞行投弹，炸毁德国主要水力发电厂，令德国蒙受极大损失，是2次大战上英国空军一大功绩。
1943年，英国皇家空军中队轰炸德国鲁尔工业区的莫奈(Mohne)水库与索尔培(Sorphe). 英国空军计划轰炸德国鲁尔附近的纳姆水库时，英军以改装的'Lancaster'兰卡斯特重轰炸机,以超低空投掷重型震撼弹(Earthquake bomb,抛投后桶型炸弹在水面以“打水漂”的方式撞击水坝根部),。
最初方案计算需要在库容侧投掷60吨炸弹，而且必须在坝基处起爆，而经过修正后利用水压冲击坝体依旧需要20吨以上。最终皇家空军解决了炸弹紧贴坝基爆炸的问题后，才将重量降到了9吨左右，而且多发炸弹命中才摧毁水坝。
