简　　介


　　这部战争题材电影（预示了以后开拍《全金属外壳》）讲述了五名年轻的应召入伍的海军士兵，从1967年开始来到训练新兵营地到1968年到越南战场的故事。这个变化对于这些新兵来说如同噩梦一般。在战场上他们因为无希望的战役而心灰意冷，也为南越同盟的腐败而震惊，还要因为自己的长官的指挥无能而频频犯险。突然有一天这些新兵看见了脱离战争的可能，他们被告知如果他们可以打败一直竞争的球队，他们就可以在战斗余下的日子里一直在战线后方安心比赛。但是事情永远不会和他们预想的一样简单。
