　　一年一度的圣诞节再次到来，加拿大一幢由民宅改建的校外女子宿舍中，芭布（Margot Kidder 饰）、菲利丝（Andrea Martin 饰）、杰西卡（Olivia Hussey 饰）、克莱尔（Lynne Griffin 饰）等几名青春靓丽的女孩正为各自的假期作打算。突然，一通神秘的电话打破了这欢乐的气氛。性情莽撞的芭布斥责电话另一头的男人，而男人则留下“将来杀死你们”的恐怖话语。当晚，克莱尔在房间内被人残忍杀害。克莱尔的死令宿舍的姐妹们既伤心又恐惧，然而警方却将精力集中在另一名13岁女孩的失踪案上，对克莱尔之死未给予太多关注。在接下来的一段时间内，舍监麦克夫人（Marian Waldman 饰）随即遇害，而犯人竟然长久以来栖身在这所房子之中。一段隐藏多年的灰暗血腥的过去随之慢慢浮现……
